You are thinking, what the heck is she talking about? Put the beginning letter of each word in the title together……COVID. What happened with your communication efforts to your family, friends, children, peers, and mental health in this last year? Please take a moment to experience what you experienced. Definitely not a story is it? Oppression is defined as an unjust or cruel experience of authority or power. Was this last year cruel to you? Was it unjust? If you answer no to this, let me tell you something…you are a robot. Where did our identity go? The first thing I do to identify a person is see what they look like, facial features. Expression and body language is very important. Do I know someone’s eye color right away? No, I have to really identify with that individual. Do you feel your identity was ripped away from you this past year? How did you cope with it or how are you coping right now? I will tell you I became more depressed, I felt like an outcast, I felt deprogrammed, I felt like a nobody. Agree?
Let us go back in history to the year of 2009. What situation was identical to the one we had last year? I’ll write it for you…H1N1, I’ll spare you the time to do research. Actually, research is very important in my reading and writing, it can’t oppress you, however, it can make you see differently and be informed. You can do it yourself, no one has the authority except for social media outlets that deny the true information. I suggest researching on a platform server to do your own research which doesn’t track you, when you are questioning history. Research the server site please. Robot. I have struggled with this word since elementary school. I felt like I was living in a world where we had to act a certain way, be popular, excel in everything because it looked good. Also, become successful, make money (buys you happiness, doesn’t it?) Hollywood is always happy, right? Why people move there, to be successful and make lots of money. Except for, we always see the same people on screen. A huge reason for my depression was due to the fact of living currently in this world, where we are told what to do, not creating experiences for ourselves, being a robot. How did/do those masks make you feel? They masked your identity, your inability to communicate. Did you lose a lot emotionally? You did.
Ok. 2009. H1N1 was discovered. The last pandemic is what I read, researched. Did I experience it? Yes. Was it a pandemic? What is the definition of pandemic? There are four definitions of the word, pandemic, maybe more. When you hear the word pandemic, what do you hear, how were you taught to react to this word; whoops…feel? Fear, millions of people dying, and uncertainty. Actually, you are not seeing it, you are perceiving the future and imagining the worst. How did the mainstream media respond? The same, they instilled fear. I am going to ask you a question, don’t make it political. How should mainstream media react to a “pandemic?” Media/ Journalists should give you facts, however; Do you think they should comfort people instead of scare them? Fear equals stress. What does stress create? Depends on the individual. Blood pressures rise, which creates more medical complications on top of the ones you already experience. Mine is mostly mental, but it can be the worst one of them all.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) In 2009 when we had the H1N1 pandemic, why didn’t we wear masks? We received the vaccine approximately 2 years later I want to say. Why are we having to wear masks now if we received the vaccine? We didn’t wear masks after H1N1 outbreak. Why were we not wearing masks when we were one-year-old, obtaining our first vaccines and then on? Why didn’t we have the PPE ready and supplied when we experienced this new virus? Why wasn’t the world prepared? We have had a couple “pandemics” back in the day. Can’t put blame on people that hadn’t experienced this type of an event yet. Do you blame people for your own events that you can’t control? NO, and if you do, that is disrespectful and wrong. Don’t we usually learn from our past mistakes or events and become prepared? Probably would help people in the future. Lots of questions here, readers. So, why was this last year different than 2009?
Do your own research. How many people died from COVID this year worldwide? I can tell you 56 million died from heart complications in the world this past year. Which number is greater? When I caught the virus, I felt like it was the flu! No joke, those were my symptoms I experienced. Everyone had different ones. Why did they only test for COVID, not the flu? Why could we not have tried tamiflu, which, by research studies, decreases the days you experience the flu symptoms. Would it have worked on this virus?
Research studies. I actually emailed the Department of Health today and a very nice nurse called me back in a timely manner. I was very appreciative of her time. As you have read above, I had a lot of questions. Was I mean? Absolutely not. I asked her the same questions you just read in the last few paragraphs. I did add a couple more questions, “Why do we have to wear a mask outside when we are with a group of people?” Answer: “Lessens the risk of infection.” “Can I have the study on this please?” “I don’t have one.” she said. I said, “Ok, no worries.” Next question, “Can I have the study that specifically truly defines that masks work?” Answer: “Well, we just received an updated one from the University of Boston.” “Came through the CDC.” Ok. “Can I have the research on why we are still wearing masks after vaccination?” Well, not everyone is vaccinated yet so we don’t know its affects on other people who don’t have it.” What have you learned about vaccinations, in the past? Not her, You, the reader. She replied, “I am sorry, I just had dental work done and my mouth is numb so I feel like I am slurring a little bit, I don’t feel well.” I replied, ” I am sorry, I didn’t know that; I hate going to the dentist too.” Do I think it was a cop out on her part? No. Do you think she was feeling stressed because she didn’t have all the answers? Yes. When we are stressed we don’t feel good. Period. It exacerbates symptoms. But, I had one more question. “Is there research on how many people committed suicide, and do we have the research that depression skyrocketed as an effect due to this “pandemic.” She replied, ” I don’t know, but I am sure people experienced it.” I replied with, “thank you so much for your time and I hope you don’t have to go back to the dentist.” I seriously hate going to the dentist, so I felt for her.
Why don’t we have the PPE for mental health? Because no one wants to talk about it. I love to talk about it! I am at peace. Why don’t you talk about it? It is so nice to be able to do what I want to do, to help myself and know I am making a difference for humanity as well. Being a nurse also helps because that really fills my soul when I can help vulnerable people become calm and collected, which equals peace.
One more thing. The nurse I communicated with also encouraged me that people can feel your body language through your eyes. As I said before, “I have no clue what color eyes you have, if I first met you or interacted with you a couple times.” Did the CDC do a study on eye contact being a form of expression? It is probably your crow’s nest moving. Crow’s nest? Really? She also mentioned touching the patient with a glove also helps. She has been telling identities (which everyone lost), for so long, she doesn’t even know anymore. Robot. I feel for her. Tell me, does a glove touch have the same meaning as human touch? Can I have a research study done on this please since healthcare facilities follow the CDC guidelines. I should ask the CDC for one or research. Bet they don’t have one.
Heard on the radio today that the most popular lifeguard gets paid 325,000 dollars a year plus 100,000 per amount of lives saved. Hey healthcare workers, do you save lives? Or, does this lifeguard live in Hollywood and has received a golden globe for saving lives on a movie? I wonder who taught him? A robot? Don’t be a robot. Let Will Smith help you with that one.
