It is apparent our past makes us who we are today, but what if we let go of the past and truly only lived in the present moment. How would your life change? If you had the ability to forgive and forget everything before this moment in time, what kind of feelings would you let go of? Fear, depression, anxiety, worry, confidence issues, emotional pain causing physical pain, or doubt. Lots of negative words in the last sentence. We were programmed to tune into these feelings more than we tune into happiness. Because if we show we are happy, are we showing off? We are not showing off, we are in a moment of bliss, however, during this age, misery loves company. I sure do hope this turns around. As I have been letting more and more feelings of gratitude, self fulfillment, positivity, and personal growth become a part of my daily life. My awareness is questioning what other people are doing with this new energy. A lot of beings do not like it. Why? Being negative is just easier, it’s more practiced. And right now, the healthcare industry is suffering from negativity. It’s spiraling out of control.
Now, I had a definite negative moment today when I heard that administration at the hospital are coming down on our productivity now after two years of working our asses off. I went off! I know healthcare facilities received numerous dollars for working the covid diagnosis in. Government funding. Well, guess who gets to be the brunt of watching how dollars are being spent….nurses. Why are we taking away nurse time for our patients? In my ideal world, I feel nursing on a medical surgical floor should be 2:1. Yes, if the hospital truly cared in properly educating patients and treating their mental state which corresponds to their physical state, this is what healthcare should be focusing on. Not cutting nurses hours. Non profits….pllleaaseee. They all profit. Remember nursing is one the of the least paid professions for the amount of stress, responsibilities we carry, and suffering from our own overall health that we endure on a daily basis. If we could properly treat patient’s with the education and overall teaching of a healthy lifestyle, we wouldn’t be re admitting people all the time. And we would be caring for our nurses as well by cutting their workload! When is education going to surpass multiple bandages? It better be soon.
There will be a new birth of healthcare and it will actually be treating and educating before chronic diseases develop. Don’t believe me? You don’t have too. I believe in me and I will be part of the change. Instead of prescribing another pill, let’s change our diet, our exercise, and most importantly, our mindset! If you change your mindset, everything else falls into place. When I was at work this morning, I was sitting in a chair for too long, my mood followed laziness, then I was like screw this. I stood up, changed my thinking habits, changed my mindset, and things started to click more. I started joking around a little bit. The energy changed.
If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness. READ THAT AGAIN. Found this on instagram. I found it on a day where I wasn’t fully present, but after reading it over and over, mindset changed. Out patient’s don’t get well right away due to being in total confinement, small hospital rooms, windows are dirty, nurses are running their asses off, and it is not a fun place to heal. If we had bright colors, huge rooms, exceptional scenery outside they could see, positive affirmations all over the place, what kind of healing would that bring in? Nope, we are too worried about paying our nurses too much. Also, retaining nurses. If you want nurses to stay happy and committed, you need to help out the nurses that have stayed true to their second home, not make them replaceable with giving more money to new nurses. Take care of the ones you have who have made your establishment succeed. Find the ways to do this before it is too late. We are replaceable, however, we just move on to bigger and better goals to help in another ways, not only for ourselves, but for our patients. We deserve the best and if you don’t think that you do, you are right where you need to be.
Well stated Brooke! I know you give your whole heart every day to your profession. You are right, we have to be proactive in our health choices. Love you
